Meet The Mint Team

Ashley Brunke
Ashley has been a certified esthetician since 2007 focusing on gel nails and laser hair removal. She opened Mint Wellness in 2014 and in 2018 began her apprenticeship as a stylist. She loves to stay up to date on new trends and styles in the hair world.
Ashley now divides her time between the salon and aerial studio. She was first certified as a personal trainer and pole instructor in 2015, and in 2016 added aerial hoop and hammock instructor to her long list of certifications.
In 2021 Ashley won the CPFA amateur championship for her pole performance and went on to win the 2022 semi-pro championship. She strives to bring her passion to every class, encouraging students to push themselves and step out of their comfort zones.
When not in the salon or studio she enjoys spending time with her husband Mark and their two children Brisynn and Brynn, as well as their extended family and friends.

Amy Perrin
Amy graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2010 and is continually updating her skills with education programs offered to stylists.
Along with her time working with clients at the salon, you can also find Amy travelling extensively to bring education and training to other stylists as the Regional Educational Trainer of Canada for L'ANZA Healing Haircare. Amy is also a member of their Texture Team, and specializes in curly hair colour and cuts.
One of Amy's favourite services is dramatic hair transformations! Who doesn't enjoy seeing those before and after pictures?
Outside of the salon Amy likes to read and travel, and is passionate about keeping music in our community. Catch her playing the French horn with the Brockville Concert Band.

Angie Bush
Angie has been passionate about hair and make-up since her teen years, and practiced her skills on family and friends. She started doing bridal make-up in 1989!
She became a licensed stylist in 2011 and has honed her skills in many areas. She loves doing bridal and prom hair and make-up and is well practiced in men's cuts.
Her passion lies in bringing out a client's natural beauty and sharing her knowledge with them.

Alexandra Cassidy
Alex has recently joined the Mint team as an apprentice nail technician, working closely with Ashley. She has been doing her own nails as well as friends' nails for years and finally decided it was time to share that passion with people outside her inner circle.
Alex loves getting creative and doing freehand painting for her clients. Have an idea you want to try out? She's got you covered and is always up to the challenge of new trends and methods of doing nails.
Alex is super outgoing and loves getting to know her clients on a personal level. Outside of the salon she keeps busy with her husband, pets and is very close to her family.

Nicole Shepherd
Nicole began poling in 2010 and immediately fell in love with the sport. In 2012, she started teaching and after a chance meeting with Ashley she began teaching at Mint Wellness.
Nicole is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Her most recent certification is as a Level 1 Fabpole instructor. Fabpole allows Nicole and her students to combine pole and aerial silks, creating new and dynamic ways of moving the body.
In 2022 Nicole competed in the CPFA Artistic category, showcasing her skills with Fabpole, choreography and elegant movement and flow.
When not in the studio Nicole stays active playing golf and baseball. She enjoys spending time with her family and at her trailer.

Cassi Barber
Cassi started at Mint Wellness as a student in 2016 and was instantly hooked!
In 2019, Cassi completed her Fitness Instructor Specialist certification, followed by her Beginner Pole Fitness certification in 2021.
These days you can find Cassi hosting Intro to Pole workshops for those interested in dipping their toes into pole fitness, weekly beginner pole classes, as well as pole doubles clinics with Ashley.
Cassi holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and is currently working on her Masters Degree.
When not working, studying or teaching, Cassi enjoys working on home improvement projects with her boyfriend, motorcycle rides, being outdoors, travel and spending time with family and friends.

Janis Denechaud
Janis started as a student and salon client at Mint Wellness in 2018 and fell in love with the atmosphere and staff right away. She has recently joined the team helping out behind the scenes with marketing and administration.
Janis is passionate about sharing with others how attending classes at Mint has increased her confidence and also how it has made being physically active a fun and social part of every day life. You can find her attending pole, low flow choreo, Fabpole and aerial hammock classes.
She graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2021, and has a special interest in communications and marketing. Janis and her husband Marc run their own business in Brockville and enjoy spending time with their three kids, four cats and bird. When not working or attending classes Janis enjoys car shows and road trips, camping, hiking and cooking.

Kyla Graham
Kyla graduated with honors from the Massage Therapy program at Geogian College in 2020. She is registered and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. At the end of 2020, Kyla moved back to her hometown of Brockville and began practicing in the area in 2021.
Kyla has always had a passion for helping others. She works with clients to address and treat the source of their stress, tension, aches and pains.
One of her main goals is to create an environment that feels comfortable, safe and inclusive for every client she encounters. Kyla is well experienced in trigger point therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue, swedish massage and prenatal massage. She hopes to complete extra courses to be able to provide more treatment options to help her clients reach their personal wellness goals.
When Kyla is not providing treatments, you will find her reading, camping with her partner, taking care of her many house plants or snuggling up with her two cats.
